The Intern in Ireland Program

Ireland is one of the world’s leading locations for global business services and Forbes named Ireland "The Best Country In The World To Do Business". Over 1200 companies, from global giants to the hottest high-growth brands, choose Ireland as their strategic European base, e.g. Proctor & Gamble and Microsoft.

  • 8 of the Top 10 Global Information Communications and Technology firms live in Ireland
  • 9 of the World’s Top 10 Pharmaceutical firms call Ireland home
  • 33rd best city in the world, topping New York, Brisbane, London and Paris

Irish innovation enhances life around the world and it is these developments that powers remote regions of Asia and Africa, the house of Parliament in London and also the Paris Metro. Ireland is the only English speaking country in the Eurozone and provides an ideal hub for interns across the globe, attracting the brightest talent and offering a multinational and multilingual melting pot of skills with a positive attitude to match. These experiential Ireland internships allow participants to gain amazing real-world experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else on earth. A reference from highly regarded Irish company instantly makes you more attractive to prospective employers.

On a personal note, interning in Ireland also allows candidates the chance to be surrounded by uncommon geological richness and the heritage surrounding Ireland lives in everyone who visits it, hence starting an adventure you’ll never want to end.

For over 13 years, Inspire Learning has offered international students the opportunity to gain work experience in Irish companies. We offer internship placements in many different areas, from environmental engineering to graphic design, in locations throughout Ireland. Inspire Learning internship placements are custom tailored to each candidate based on their degree requirements, and last 8–16 weeks.

Our program includes:

  • Custom placements throughout Ireland

I'm doing well! I've met some great people at work as well as other participants through Inspire Learning. I can't believe I've almost been here a month, it seems like I arrived just yesterday. I've been keeping busy during the week with my job and have been traveling to places like Cork and Connemara on the weekends. I'm so thankful for this wonderful opportunity!

Tourism management student

Yes, I have been very busy lately! The first match of the season is tomorrow and I've been trying to get involved with anything I can for match day to get all the experience I can. I absolutely love working here and everyone I work with! It has been an absolute blast. I'm really looking forward to the match tomorrow and finding out what match day has to bring. I am really enjoying my stay here and I'm already dreading the day I have to head back to the states even though it's a few months away yet.

Sports management student

This just keeps getting better and better! The family I'm staying with is amazing, they're the coolest people I've ever met. The internship is going quiet well too: I've already wrote several press releases, assisted a photo shoot session, made designs for Twitter profile and a presentation, among other things.  My boss and the people I work with are really kind and are as grateful to have me here as I am to them for taking me in. I'm really happy, I couldn't have made a better choice.

Public relations student

My experience in Ireland was life-changing, breathtaking, and overall magical. From my very first day in Dublin to my last in Westport, my feelings about the place were enriched. After my experience, I had developed a love and deep respect for the people and for the land.

Media student

I love my internship, I am getting to ride sometimes over four hours a day! It's great experience for me and every week I join a lesson and am learning more about their style of riding and they are teaching me how to jump, something I thought I may never get to do! I love all of the people and the horses. We are starting Pony Camp which means there will be lots of young children to teach and while at times they can be frustrating, I really enjoy it.

Large animal management student

I am doing very well here! I'm really enjoying working with Anna and everyone at the firm, and adjusting to Dublin very well. I've been able to meet up with some of the other girls these past few weekends and we've had a great time!

International business student

Everything is going well! I think I meant to reply to your last email but then got busy and lost track. My placement has been great. Dr. Barry is very helpful and accommodating and has helped me make the most of my time here. Additionally this has been a good opportunity for me to talk to students doing their Masters or PhD because I'm headed in that direction. Thanks for checking in!

Chemical engineering student

Thank you so much for everything, Jana. I know I didn't keep in great contact—there was just so much to do and experience! I loved knowing that I always had your help and support throughout this whole process. It truly was unforgettable and I will cherish these memories forever. Thank you again.
